Lela & Joie is inspired by childhood memories. We are only kids once – today's little moments become tomorrow's precious memories. We created Lela & Joie to help children create happy childhood memories that last a lifetime. We do this by infusing imagination of characters into children’s everyday clothing – so that whether it is a visit to Disneyland, a birthday party, or simply going to school or having pretend play with siblings and friends in an afternoon – these moments create long-lasting memories that last a lifetime.

 

the name:

The name of the brand is the names of two loving sisters – Lela and Joie. Lela, whose name means loyal and beauty in French, is poised, sensible and rational; and Joie, whose name means joy as in joie de vivre, is optimistic, creative and adventurous. The blended names reflect their combination of practicality and style, clasping all the elements in one: a fun, playful dress that is practical, versatile and easy to care for.

Growing up as an avid reader, our founder enjoyed travelling the world and magical kingdoms through pages of many wonderful reads. Through Lela & Joie, she hopes to inspire children’s imagination and their love of reading where children can stay connected with their favorite storybook characters by dressing up in creative play.
